Steve Watson is an ex professional keeper, who now runs his own goalkeeping coaching school in the region. He has contacted us to offer his services to The William Hunter Goalkeeping Fund free of charge.
Steve runs courses at the following locations & is offering 3 FREE sessions to any youngsters coming through the WHGK fund.

Saturday Morning, Newburn (Newburn Sports Centre) 9.30am - 11am

Steve Watson profile
As a youngster Steve played for Coventry City for a few seasons where he trained with Jim Blyth (Coventry City Goalkeeper coach) Magnus Hedman and England Internationals Steve Ogrizovic, Chris Kirkland and Peter Shilton.
From Coventry City he then moved onto Bury, were he stayed for a couple of seasons. Steve then played at a semi professional level back home in Newcastle and started to coach goalkeepers in his area.
Other coaches and goalkeepers Steve has worked with are:
Simon Smith, Kevin Blackwell (ex Leeds manager, who was the Bury keeper coach), Dean Kiely (Bury), Paddy Kenny (Bury), Tim Flowers, Shay Given, and Terry Genoe. This is a magnificent array of professional names, the majority of whom are still involved within the game at the highest level. Budding goalkeepers within the Newcastle area are extremely fortunate to have Steve on their doorstep, and can’t fail but to progress with the assistance of Steve’s knowledge and commitment to his coaching.
